Fire consumed the entire engine compartment of a car Tuesday morning on Highway 99, just south of the Stony Creek bridge.

It appears that between 10:30 and 11 a.m. on June 15, a car was traveling south on Highway 99 when its engine compartment caught fire.

The driver was able to pull into the empty lot in front of Stony Creek Auto Dismantlers, and there she was able to unload many of the items inside the car.

Orland firefighters quickly arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.
