At about 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9, Orland police officers, Orland firefighters, and other emergency responders were dispatched to a report of a single-vehicle traffic accident at the intersection of Sixth and South Streets. Officers contacted Alfonso Banuelos Garcia, 55, who said he was driving his 2003 Honda Accord north on Sixth Street, approaching South Street, when he fell asleep and collided with a traffic light pole located in the triangle at the southeast corner of the intersection.
