Friday, August 27:
7:45 a.m., the Orland Police Department received information from CPS of possible child abuse. An investigation was initiated.
8:58 a.m., the Orland Police Department received information from CPS of possible child abuse. An investigation was initiated.
10:27 a.m., on Marin Street at South Street, Orland police officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a light blue 2012 Chevy Cruz and a black 2015 Honda Accord. Officers contacted Juan Covarrubias, 37, of Chico, who said his glasses fell off and while attempting to retrieve them, ran into Jairo Orozco, 28, of Orland. Officers assisted with an information exchange.
11:26 a.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to a reported burglary at 817 Newport Avenue. An investigation was initiated.
12:50 p.m., on Date Street at Rennat Way, an Orland police officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on a blue 1995 Toyota Tacoma. Edid Guido-Moctezuma, 19, of Corning, was cited for allegedly failing to stop at a posted stop sign.
12:54 p.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious person in the area of 516 Woodward Avenue. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.
2:46 p.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious woman who was possibly under the influence in the area of 919 East Street. Officers contacted Heather Reed, 47, of Orland. Following an evaluation, Reed was arrested and booked for allegedly being under the influence of a controlled substance.
3:08 p.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance that happened on school grounds. Patrease Fields, 32, reported her son was being bullied by another student. Fields was provided with information.
3:31 p.m., Orland police officers responded to a report of an assault that occurred during school at Orland High School. Officers spoke with a 14-year-old who reported he was assaulted by another 14-year-old after the school rally. Officers took a report and worked with school administration.
6:18 p.m., Patrease Fields, 32, reported her ex-boyfriend, Trevor Taylor, 28, had claimed her children on his taxes. Fields requested documentation and was advised to contact the IRS regarding the issue.
8:11 p.m., Orland police officers responded to a report of suicidal juvenile in the 800 block of Watts Avenue. Officers contacted the boy and determined he was not a danger to himself or others. Information was provided to the boy and mother.
9 p.m., Kayla Tatum, 30, reported an unknown person had thrown a rock from the alleyway, breaking a window to her residence at 426 East Street. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate any suspicious activity or individuals.
Saturday, August 28:
8:58 a.m., Orland police officers responded to a report of a disturbance at 715 Walker Street. Michelle Vasquez, 38, reported her 17-year-old son was causing a disturbance and left prior to officers’ arrival. Michelle Vasquez was provided with information.
11:12 a.m., Orland police officers received a report of a possibly intoxicated man lying on the sidewalk near Les Schwab Tires. Officers contacted Curtis Hart, 54, who was not intoxicated and was resting from walking all morning. Officers later contacted Hart on Second Street near Walker Street lying on the sidewalk. Hart was counseled and cleared from the sidewalk.
2:35 p.m., Orland police officers received a report of a possible intoxicated driver in the area of Sav-Mor. Officers located the vehicle, contacted Jose Nunez, 47, of Orland, and determined he was not under the influence.
9:20 p.m., Orland police officers responded to assist Glenn County Sheriff’s deputies with a report of a large fight at 585 Los Robles Avenue, Hamilton City. Officers assisted until no longer needed.
10:06 p.m., Orland police officers responded to the report of rocks being thrown in the area of 862 Watts Avenue. Officers contacted Carlos Zarate, 28, who reported an unknown person from a neighboring residence had thrown a rock into his yard. Officers attempted to make contact at the neighbor’s but there was no answer. The incident was documented at Zarate’s request. He was advised to contact law enforcement if the issue continues.
10:13 p.m., Orland police officers responded to a domestic disturbance 804 Cherry Circle. Officers contacted Jason Taylor, 36, who alleged his estranged wife, Shannon Taylor, 37, assaulted him and left prior to officers’ arrival. Officers attempted to contact Shannon Taylor but were unsuccessful in locating her. Officers later spoke with Shannon Taylor by phone. She stated she left town and was not returning, and provided a statement.
Sunday, August 29:
1:02 a.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to a report of juveniles throwing rocks at a home in the area of 320 Stony Creek Drive. Officers conducted an area check but were unable to locate the described people. Extra patrol was provided.
2:19 a.m., Orland police officers assisted Glenn County Sheriff’s deputies with a report of a domestic disturbance at 4645 County Road G. Officers assisted until no longer needed.
3:16 a.m., Orland police officers contacted Marie Hansen, 41, of Maxwell, at the Pilot Travel Center, 4444 Commerce Lane. Hansen was arrested and booked for a Glenn County misdemeanor warrant.
2:23 p.m., Orland police officers responded to the report of a woman overdosing on medication in the 300 block of Swift Street. Officers contacted the 28-year-old who was subsequently placed on a mental health hold and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
2:30 p.m., Orland police officers responded to a report of a suspicious person screaming and causing a scene. Orland police officers checked the area around 506 Sixth Street but were unable to locate any disturbance.
3:20 p.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to a welfare check at 79 Rennat Way. Officers contacted Cynthia Miller, 68, and Millissa Reckley, 30. Both stated they had an argument and were okay. Officers counseled both and provided them with information regarding a civil matter.
8:10 p.m., the Chico Police Department requested assistance on locating a missing child. Officers responded to the area given by the Chico Police Department, Lollipop Land Park, and found the child. The child was removed from the missing persons system and released to CPS.
9:39 p.m., Orland police officers responded to the report of a verbal disturbance between neighbors in the area of 80 Chapman Street. Officers contacted Jose Cisneros, 27, and Esmeralda Cervantes, 27. Cisneros and Cervantes said they were involved in a verbal dispute with their neighbor, Veronica Jimenez, 40, because her pet had entered their property. Officers attempted to speak with Jimenez but she refused to provide a statement. Officers provided Cervantes with information regarding restraining orders.
10:30 p.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to check the area of Dutch Bros. Coffee for a lost purse. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate it.
10:39 p.m., Orland police officers responded to the report of a woman causing a disturbance at the Pilot Travel Center. Officers contacted Jade Rios, 28, of San Diego, who said she was looking for a ride home. Rios was told of the complaint and she agreed to leave.
Monday, August 30:
7:26 a.m., at Papst Avenue at East Walker Street, an Orland police officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on a blue 2004 Toyota Camry. Caleb Townley, 29, of Redding, was cited for an inoperable brake light and allegedly driving while unlicensed.
9:06 a.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to check the welfare on a woman at 903 South Street. Officers contacted a 27-year-old woman from San Diego. Following an evaluation, the woman was transported to Glenn Medical Center to meet with Glenn County Mental Health personnel.
12:55 p.m., on Sixth Street at South Street, an Orland police officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a white 1996 Dodge Ram. Jenna Schultz, 36, of Orland, was cited for alleged expired registration and no proof of insurance. She was also notified that her license is suspended.
12:59 p.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to the report of a cold burglary at 1441 Pine Street. Officers contacted Elizabeth Stevens, 36, of Orland, who alleged Herlindo Paredes, 31, of Orland, broke into her residence and stole items.
3:06 p.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to 1003 Newport Avenue for a report of vandalism to a vehicle. Officers contacted Lucia Pablo, 50, of Orland, who reported that an unknown person broke the window on her 1993 Lincoln Town Car.
7:49 p.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to a possible domestic dispute at the Orland Inn on South Street. Officers contacted Ray Wallis, 37, and Shavonne Prescott, 39, both of Orland. Following an investigation, Wallis was arrested and booked for alleged domestic battery.
8:19 p.m., Orland police officers were dispatched to Paigewood Drive to check the welfare on two juveniles. Officers contacted the babysitter and two children. An investigation was initiated and a referral was made to CPS.
10:05 p.m., Orland police officers responded to the report of a domestic violence at the Pilot Travel Center. Officers contacted Cherryline Sapnu, 54, of Cathedral City, who alleged her boyfriend, Simon Omega, 64, also of Cathedral City, assaulted her. Following an investigation, Omega was arrested and booked for alleged domestic battery.
