Obituary: Leveo Joseph Domenighini, 101

Leveo Joseph Domenighini of Willows died on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, after a lengthy stay at the hospital. The youngest of five children, he was born to Batista and Louisa Domenighini on Oct. 31, 1920.

He had two brothers, Leo and Elmo, and two sisters, Connie and Mary.

In 1937, Leveo and his brother, Leo, bought their first farmland of 320 acres near Willows. They went on to build a successful farm operation totaling more than 1,000 acres.

He met his beautiful, spunky wife, Doris True, at a dance in Orland. From there, they went on to marry in Reno, Nev.

They were married for 73 happy years and had three children.

Along with farming, Leveo absolutely loved fishing on the ocean with his good friends, Pete and Fran Berins; spending summers in Fort Bragg with his wife; and traveling to wonderful places like Alaska and Hawaii.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Jones; son Gale Domenighini; grandkids Merle Jones (Lisa), Teresa Field (Paul), Gloria Jones, Kim Bibey (Matt), Mike Jones, Jenna Domenighini, Melissa D. Reynolds (Ron), and Angela Domenighini; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Batista, who died in 1935; brother, Elmo, who died in 1944; mother, Louisa, who died in 1958; sister, Connie, who died in 1979; sister, Mary, who died in 1987; his loving wife, Doris, who died in 2016; his brother, Leo, who died in 2018; and his son, Gary, who died in 2020.

All who he loved, and all who loved him, will miss him greatly.
