Dozens of runners, including a Viking or two, took part in the Sixth Annual Shamrock 5K Run to benefit Orland High School track and cross-country programs.

The run began at the Lely Aquatic Park parking lot at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, and ended at the same place.

Runners gather around the registration tables in the Lely Park parking lot.

Early registration was $25 and increased to $35 on March 10.

All proceeds went to the OHS track team.

Funds raised at this year’s event went for duffle bags, travel expenses, team t-shirts, and new hurdles.

These girls seem to almost be flying across the parking lot rather than running.

Runners received a custom t-shirt.

It is unknown whether the Vikings will wear their t-shirts under or over their traditional apparel.
