On Thursday morning, January 2, the Willows Area Office of the California Highway Patrol released the names of the four victims of the New Year’s Eve head-on collision that happened on Interstate 5 in South Glenn County.
In that tragic incident, two people died at the scene and two people with major injuries were transported by medical helicopters to Enloe Medical Center in Chico.
The two who were transported to Enloe were John Haidar, 20, of Simi Valley, and Nancy Fetscher, 66, of Paso Robles. The two people who died at the scene were Steven Fetscher, 70, of Paso Robles, and Cathleen Lewis, 64, of Torrance.
Haidar was the driver and sole occupant of the 2021 Dodge Ram that was involved in the accident. Steven Fetscher was the driver of the other involved pickup, a 2006 Ford F-150, which was also carrying two passengers, Nancy Fetscher and Cathleen Lewis.
