
Daryl Dean Alberico died on Saturday, March 22, 2025. He was born in Orland to Albert and Lily Alberico on February 15, 1942.
He graduated from Orland High School in 1960. After high school, he drag raced his 1964 Corvette in Redding for a brief time.
He enjoyed Stony Gorge Lake with his family, boating and water skiing. For many years, he played men’s softball, in Orland, for the Artois Volunteer Fire Department team.
Also, for many years, he played softball in the Willows Men’s Softball League with Daryl Spooner, Harold VonBargen, Pete and John Berens, Gary and Dennis Pence, Joey Furtado, and others.
Farming and agriculture were his lifelong career. He worked at the family farm in Artois with his dad, Albert, growing Ladino clover, barley, wheat and milo.
He did his own custom farming in rice and did some custom farming in the Willows area for Emerald Farms, harvesting onions for seed.
He founded, owned, and operated Poly, Riser & Pipe until it was sold in 2005.
He had a passion for elk and deer hunting, in his younger years at Buck Rock at Government Flat. Later on, he hunted in Utah, Colorado and various other areas.
His love for fishing was spent mostly on the Sacramento River and, occasionally, at Lake Almanor and Butte Meadows.
He was a generous, dedicated man who loved sharing his collection of cars. Throughout the years, he enjoyed taking his cars to car shows, especially the shows in Durham.
He donated his time and car rides for Make a Wish Foundation at Thunderhill Raceway Park.
He is survived by his daughters, Nicolette Deming (Paul), Natasha Alberico and Nashara Wisenbaker (Scott); grandchildren Brittney Faulkner (Dewayne) and William N. Wisenbaker; great-grandchildren Ava and Adalynn Faulkner; brother Russell Alberico (Judy); sister Karla Dreiss (Raymon); and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jay Alberico (wife, Nancy), who died on September 20, 2014.
A celebration of life is planned for noon on Friday, May 30, at the Elks Lodge, 150 South Shasta Street, Willows. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Artois Volunteer Fire Department or the Make a Wish Foundation.
