A chase involving a Mitsubishi Eclipse and law enforcement vehicles reached speeds surpassing 100 miles per hour as they tore through northeastern Glenn County on Tuesday.

At about 2:13 p.m. on March 15, at County Roads 18 and P, Deputy Ayres passed by a white Mitsubishi Eclipse being driven by a person he believed to have a felony warrant for his arrest.

The deputy turned around and the suspect vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed.

A pursuit was initiated that went from Orland to Hamilton City to the Capay District, where it was terminated.

As the vehicles headed toward Hamilton City, a deputy asked the Glenn County Sheriff’s dispatcher to “notify the CHP in Butte County” of their approach.

However, when the Eclipse reached Broadway in Hamilton City, the driver suddenly made a right turn.

It then turned west, then south on Los Robles. It made its way over to Highway 45, and headed north.

It continued northbound when it crossed Highway 32 and became County Road 203. Speeds reached 110 miles per hour.

They passed Wyo Road (County Road 9), soon making their way to County Road 205 and Second Avenue in the Capay District. At Second Avenue, the speed slowed to 75 miles per hour.

The vehicle ran several stop signs during the pursuit.

Deputy Ayres read off the suspect vehicle’s license plate number as 6BMF675. The Mitsubishi was reportedly registered to a Karen Johnson of Sacramento.

The dispatcher confirmed a felony warrant for the driver.

As the vehicles approached the Tehama County line, the chase was discontinued. The vehicle was BOLO’d out to Corning and was later found.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was said to be Richard Skeslien of Orland.
