
Following are some recent death notices, as taken from the Glenn County Sheriff-Coroner’s logs and other sources.
January 7, 1943:
James Stanley Mitchell of Hamilton City was born on October 2, 1917. Sources indicate he died in the Philippines in a World War 2 prisoner of war camp controlled by the Japanese on January 7, 1943. His remains were recently identified and were brought back to Northern California, passing through Hamilton City. He is to be buried alongside family members in Los Molinos.
Thursday, March 20:
Former Glenn County resident Barbara Linquist, 74, died in her home in Chico.
Sunday, March 23:
Former Glenn County resident Dorothy Alice Beesley, 96, died.
Saturday, April 5:
Stephen G. Bambauer, 82, of Orland, died.
Former Orland resident Jane C. King, 84, died in Vancouver, Washington.
Monday, April 7:
John Frederick Bork, 79, of Anderson died at Glenn Medical Center in Willows.
Wednesday, April 9:
Willows resident David L. Wenner, 84, died at the Willows Care Center.
Paul Austin Clemins, 75, of Orland, died.
Saturday, April 12:
Virginia “Jinny” Anderson, 81, of Elk Creek, died.
Wednesday, April 16:
Willows resident Howard Valdeen Cawthra, 71, died in Willows.
Willows resident Arthur Steven Odell died in Willows.
Thursday, April 17:
A hospice patient died at a residence in Orland.
Friday, April 18:
Bonnie Jean Robertson, 84, of Willows, died at Glenn Medical Center.
Wednesday, April 23:
Carl Edward Melvin died at his home in Orland.
Friday, April 25:
Gregory Lee Harrouff died at his home in Orland.
Sunday, April 27:
Urijah David RedHawk Potter, a 15-month-old cancer patient on hospice care, died in Willows.
Tuesday, April 29:
Mariea Cecilia Fragoso died in Willows.
A person whose name was withheld, possibly because next of kin had not been notified, died in the Capay District.
Darrell Eugene Darling of Orland died.
